BRazil Adventures 2009

STUCK IN BRAZIL

So again, don't fly AMERICAN AIRLINES! I mean really if your life depended on it...you may as well dig your own grave. Sabia and I were ready to go this morning when we were intrupted boarding the plane by an announcement that the flight had been cancelled! I really don't know how its possible. When I got back to the main check-in desk, imagine this - no one at the counter knew the flight had been cancelled. Most of the people at the airline desk know me - as my mom and sister had major drama with them last week. So, I was helped privately and rescheduled for tomorrow business class all the way through NYC. Honestly, I dont care about the upgrade and I am very weary of this plane actually leaving. ITs pretty frustrating. American airlines is by far the worst company you can fly with. One of the airline people in the "office" booth they have there locked herself inside the office as she was either afraid of the clients or had no idea how to do her job. I am going to think its both.

So I am going to make due and hit the beach for what I really hope is my last day.

I NEED TO BE AT NEW DESIGN Monday -- so think positive thoughts everyone. BOth Sabia and I want to keep our jobs and need to be home!

Beijos.

New Years 2009

Brazilian Life

Bloggin is a tough job...

So I am heading home in two days. Time really does fly when you are having fun! And blogging has become all too much "work" for me since my return from the new years trip. Being that I have to be back to work soon, I am going to save my concentration for my return and post some photos that should amuse most of you.

What I can tell you is that this time of the year is awesome in Brazil. Its hot, just the way I like it and like most places people are super fun in the summer. I would almost compare it to the way New Yorkers are when the seasons change, but that is just not fair as Bahianos think a day at 70 degrees is cold. Either way, this has been an great trip (aside from my mothers airline and 7 days return back to the states drama), I could not have asked for a better month off of work and with family. My mom and sister were able to meet all of the wonderful Brazil family that I share with Sabia and most of my friends that come to visit. And Sabia and I were able to matar nosso sauades do Brasil! Translation is difficult on that! Sorry.

I can't really say I am ready to come home, because who is ready to come back from beach paradise to the cold snow. But I do feel really good, relaxed, bronzed and happy. What more can I ask for. My husband has been so good to me, my mom, sister and his family that I am speechless. Its been a good trip. So I will leave you with some pics and soon enough all of you should be hearing from me via cell phone (pray all goes well with travels, I do need to get back to work on Monday!).

I should be packing but forget that! I beach bound for the day tomorrow and after lots of laps and capoeira...I think its time for some ice cold beer at the beach for my last day! Hey, why not! We only live once, right?

Happ 2009!

So sorry for the delay in update. We have been having the best of times. The house in Jacuipe for 2008-2009 was awesome! We parried, relaxed, tanned, snorkled, surfed, ate, ate, drank then did it all over again.

Seriously its been really cool having a part of my family meet my husbands world here in Brazil. Its been very meaningful for all of us that are a part of this experience. My mom having broken spanish-english-portuguese conversations with Sabia[s father. To my sister and her new found love for BRazil. Its really been beautiful/

Sorry for spelling errors by the way - I do consider myself a smart person. But I cant type on these keyboards nor can I get spell check to hook a sista up!

I will update with more picitures once I get my laptop back functioning.

We spent 12 DAYS all over the linha verde here in brazil/ The rivers we swam were so fresh both literally and physically. The warmth of the sun and the people is truely something special.

Only drama thus far is that my moms flight yesterday was cancelled. DONT FLY AMERICAN AIRLINES PEOPLE, they are evil. I mean really. She spent 5 hours in the same place in line cause the staff didnt know how to deal with a cancelled flights. By the time I got back tot eh airport yesterday afternoon people were ready to fight, cry and just never come back to BRazil. The drama was real. So my sis and mom are on an extended vacation being paid for by the airlines at great hotel in Stella MAris. So all is well that ends well.

Sabia, his cousin Alisson, sis and MOm spent the day beachside at the cutest place with an infinity pool on the beach. NOt bad. Took BEcky to some down and dirty Boca do Rio pagode last night so we are making due.

I think we are going to Emporio in JOrge Amado tonight...Tracee, Kyla and Erin all know the spot. SHould be fun. Tomorrow night Paragole concert as I want BEcky to get an idea of what carnaval feels like.

I have so many pics to share. I feel super blessed to start the new year with all part of my families connecting. So thus far 2009 has been good to us.

HEre is how I spend NEw YEars day and a photo of Sabia's mom and her best friend Tia Barbinha!
